Well, the Goonhavern park group has raised the money required for the children’s play area and had it all installed. It is amazing and has transformed the park. The skatepark section is through planning but a little short of funds right now. They need the help of local businesses and fund raisers. Get in touch folks!

The horticultural and domestic show committee is working hard as normal planning for our event of the year in July. Throughout the year we are planning, raising money through sponsors and advertisers, arranging entertainment, tents, tables etc. communicating with schools and other groups, creating schedules, certificates, arranging rosettes, updating databases and web sites etc. etc. etc.

By June, we will be dusting off the barbeques and show attractions, printing the schedules and hundreds of certificates then getting down to the most important bit… praying for sunshine!

We still need more input for the news section here, so if you have any info that would be useful for us, you can post it on here.

  1. Hello, I’m wondering if you can help me. I’m looking for a venue to teach baby ballet on a Friday afternoon or morning. Do you have any availability?

  2. On Friday October 7th 2016, Goonhavern School will be celebrating their 140th Anniversary (1876-2016) since the school opened. Various events are planned for this special day, details to be published as confirmed see for any updates.

Goonhavern School has an ongoing fund raising scheme, and is hoping that “any ex pupils” that are interested in the school, and would like to donate to their scheme would do so. If you go to the FROGS (Friends of Goonhavern School) web page you can read more about this and how to contribute.

  3. Well it’s been 12 months since our last major “Gathering” where we had up to 70 people attend, so if you missed our little get together in May now’s your chance.
Please do support it at The New Inn Goonhavern on Saturday 14th November 2015 between 10 am and 12 noon. The New Inn is pleased to allow us to use their facilities, supporting a village event.
