I’ve had far worse Derek, believe me….my comment though was written with tongue firmly in cheek. Hopefully a reunion can be arranged although how one gets all the ex-pupil contacts details with data compliance regulations and goodness knows what other red tape these days is beyond me….New Inn looks a very likely venue that could please all……
Morning Karl, you are 18 mths late, the School had a 140yr anniversary in Oct 2016, where I gave a display (projector) of all the school photos over a 120 yr period. I produced a DVD for sale after many asked was there one. They have had a few reunions, but the others were done by age groups, , our one was everyone welcome. Trouble is now many ex pupils that lived locally are deceased, and the newer ones have no particular interest in the school or village today. It’s a shame, but I think the days of reunions are getting less appealing. I did a “Gathering” at The New Inn last year, it was the 3rd annual but only 7 turned up, after the first was packed. Disappointing!! I do rum a Facebook Group, “Memories of Goonhavern & District” many ex pupils are on there. If you have not found it yet go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/1472650986301400/?ref=bookmarks I started this on May 2013 and now have over 800 members “worldwide” Regards Derek
Front row, first on left is definitely me. I’ve had numerous spelling variations of my surname (no idea why…..) but its Wiesmath – first name is with a ‘K’ rather than ‘C’. Great memories…..
