Between 1993 & 1998 the old crossroads was removed and the mini roundabouts were put in to encourage traffic to move more freely.
Coming from Newquay to Perranporth, the roundabout is not wide enough for 2 lanes to join the roundabout together without mounting the centre reservation. This must cause accidents regularly. We almost had one today because someone was entering the roundabout at speed beside us. Apart from the speed, neither of the cars were at fault.
Been there for a number of years now, don’t think there has been nmany accidents, so driver error, and to be honest if drivers drove carefully there should not be accidents, but people don’t in too much hurry. It is poorly designed, we used to have a crossroads.
Does anyone have any photos of the village between 1971 and 1990? It would be interesting for us younger ones to have photos on here of how it was when we were children too.
