It was opened on 14th August 1905 along with Mount Hawke, Goonbell, Mithian, Mitchell & Newlyn (not the platform that is still there today but a wooden structure on the other side of the bridge) and the original Trewerry & Trerice Halt which was also a wooden structure. Both Mitchell & Newlyn and Trewerry & Trerice Halts would be rebuilt in the 1930s in prefab concrete and Mitchell & Newlyn relocated to the position it is currently in.
