This is more like how I remember it when I went to school there between 1978 and 1985 except there was no benches, hanging baskets and other flower arrangements back then and the sign outside the green door on the left was not there either. The bell came from Penwartha School which closed in 1969 and I remember Simon King once being told off for jumping up and ringing it!
Yes it was similar when I was there between 1962 – 1967, but the Bell from Penwartha School was stolen a few years ago, never recovered. Pity they removed the Bell Tower, would not have been a problem then.
