I remember Elizabeth Hicks living here. She was a foreign lady, not sure where from but anyway, she was a writer I think because sometimes you would hear her outside reciting what she’d written. And she had a dog called Jenny who while she was living with Mrs Hicks, was a kind of timid dog although she used to put her ball out through the railings sometimes for you to throw for her. When Mrs Hicks left (not sure exactly what happened to her), Marlene and John Trevethan took on Jenny the dog and she was totally different. She was really friendly and would let you stroke her and all sorts.
